Eco Link is a concept for an AI-powered B2B marketplace that would automate environmental compliance, run competitive auctions, and turn industrial waste into a tracked, tradable resource — including carbon credits.

Right now, factories sell recyclable materials to informal brokers at prices up to 40% below market value — losing an estimated $5 billion a year across Egypt alone. At the same time, manual environmental record-keeping under Law 202/2020 leaves plant managers exposed to fines of up to EGP 1,000,000 and potential criminal liability for a single documentation error.
Here's how we're designing the platform: four modules, each built to remove a specific point of friction — pricing, paperwork, logistics, and data — so a factory could manage everything from one dashboard instead of five.
The plan: a factory uploads a photo of a waste shipment, and a computer vision model (based on architectures like ResNet) suggests a material classification using international codes such as EWC and ISO 59000. The listing then enters a competitive auction where verified recyclers can bid — replacing one-on-one broker negotiations with open, comparable offers.
Our goal is to remove the fear around paperwork. Eco Link would aim to auto-generate digital manifests and environmental records aligned with Waste Management Regulatory Authority (WMRA) requirements as soon as a transaction closes. A "License Guard" feature would check buyers' and carriers' environmental permits before a deal is finalized.
The idea is for the platform to group nearby shipments into shared "milk-run" collection routes, so carriers spend less time driving empty between pickups. Transactions would be protected through an escrow-style payment system, where funds are held until delivery and quality are confirmed by both sides.
Every verified transaction would feed into a sustainability record for the factory. The long-term vision is to let factories export ESG-style reports that could support green financing applications and international sustainability frameworks like CBAM, and eventually to explore converting verified recycling data into carbon credits tradable on platforms like the Egyptian Carbon Exchange (EGCX).
The goal: stop paying to get rid of your waste, and start treating it as a
source of revenue.
Textile, food, chemical, and construction plants would be able to list
their byproducts, receive competitive bids from verified recyclers, and generate the documentation needed
for compliance — turning a cost line and a paperwork burden into a potential revenue stream and a clearer
audit trail.
The goal: help recyclers move beyond unpredictable supply, toward a continuous,
standardized flow of material.
Recycling SMEs and cement plants seeking RDF fuel would be
able to access listings with material composition and impurity levels specified upfront — so what arrives is
closer to what was ordered, and sourcing decisions can be planned rather than improvised.
